●Bio;
Born in a big southern city, house parties were a large part of Casey's life. At least once a week, her family would either host a lavish scene at their house, or take a small trek to a neighbors house for one. Everyone claimed it was neighborhood bonding, but Casey could tell that it was much more than that; indeed, the young girl was able to pick up on the competitiveness of the "sport". Every week, her mother would go shopping for party supplies, and Casey begged to be taken with. Eventually, when she was old enough, she began to pick out the goods with her mother's assistance, and then, suddenly, she was buying them herself. The southern charm within the girl was always her mask, hiding the competitiveness and need to win. Once Casey starting creating the parties at home rather than her mother, there was no competition anymore. Everyone agreed that Casey threw the best parties: ever.
Alas, the young lady knew that one city would only get her so far in life and, knowing now what her dream in life was, she packed up and headed off to college in the hamptons. She balanced a small party planning business with her course load and extracurriculars, yet she was still able to come out with higher than a 4.0 GPA. Proud of herself, she left the school with an undergraduate degree in design and immediately dove head first into expanding her career. Using both the design skills that her mother allotted to her as a child and the techniques she learned in school, Casey was quickly a success sweeping the city, neighboring cities, and even far away cities, as she loved to travel (a far away party was a refreshing challenge). It was common knowledge that Casey brought the clean lines, the sophisticated parties, and the real stunners. If there was a rule, she would stomp over it - unless, of course, it was her rule. Running a no non-sense business was tough, but it was how she beat the competition.
The hamptons was her ideal planning location, and she was quickly sucked into the glamour. Casey was the planner everyone knew- the fast talking, country-accent slinging, put together young woman, and it didn't take long for her to be featured in magazines and on TV. Crystal Clear Party & Event planning was a success, and so was Casey.
●Answer in Character:
♔Tell us about you! What makes you unique?
What makes me unique? What an interesting question. I think I would say what makes me unique is my southern charm, my fast wit, and my ability to work under pressure. Also, I have a true love for party planning. It's not just a job, you know? It's a passion.
♔How did you get into the party planning business?
Living in the south means house parties at least every week. I got into it by watching my mother and learning from her. Eventually, I was the one who was planning our parties, and the Dixon parties were eventually regarded as the best in town. I loved the thrill of not only getting compliments, but of creating such perfect, sophisticated, whimsical events. That's how it all began.
♔Why should you be considered for this competition?
I should be considered because, obviously, I'm the best. I'm not afraid to use my claws and to bend a few rules here and there to get what I want. Party planning is fierce, and so is this competition. Even though I've got a cute little accent and I can rock a classic pair of cowboy boots, don't be surprised if you wind up with a knife in your back. I'm here for the parties, not for the people. I should be considered because this is my number one passion, this is what I was meant to do, and I WILL win.
♔What will you specifically bring to this competition?
I'll bring clean lines and clean ideas. Nothing I do is ever done again by me, nor has it ever been done by someone else. I've got amazing connections and an entire collection of ideas inside of my head. I'll bring uniqueness and spontaneity to this competition. I'll bring my a-game.
♔What was your most successful party?
Most successful.. hm.. Oh! You know President Obama, right? Of course you do! Yes, so, my father is a political adviser, and he called me out of the blue one day and told me he had a huge opportunity for me: birthday party for the president. I snapped it up, flew across the country, and had only a week to plan it. I was on it. I called in favors from friends in D.C., used local business to promote small town America, and pulled out a great-stinkin' party. I will never live that down, never! I even got to meet Obama himself! It was a fantastic red, white, and blue party, and it was beautiful, honestly.
♔Tell us about one of your Make It Work moments in your party planning career.
Alright, picture this: it's a lavish anniversary party, these kind folks have been married for 50 years, and they asked me to book the singers of their first dance song from their wedding. Can you imagine? A band from 50 years ago! There was no way I could do that! Well, I tracked the band down (they were broken up at that point), and begged for a performance. They affirmed, and everything seemed to be set. The day of, I get a call from the guitarist refusing to show! Like, seriously? The day of? Well, the other band members show up and they're like "we had no idea!" So I, having to be sure this nice couple gets what they want, pull in my brother (who, conveniently plays guitar), and, oh thank heavens James saves the day. That was my biggest make it work moment, but I did, indeed, make it work! The folks loved it!
♔What would winning this competition do for you?
It would affirm the fact that I am as great of a party planner as I think I am. That all those years as a kid wasn't for nothing. That I'm truly good at what I love. Also, that a little girl from a small southern city can do anything!
♔This competition is going to be no holds barred and very draining. Can you handle it?
That's the only kind of thing I can handle. Pressure doesn't crack me and neither does hard work. I love the adrenaline rush, honestly. I've got this.
●Activity level: I'd say I could do up to 5 sets a week.
